Hair Loss, Men and Women

Millions of men and women suffer from hair loss in the US.  Up to 80% of women will have noticeable hair loss by the age of 60.  If you have seen changes in your hair growth and would like to see more hair growth instead of continued thinning, we can look for answers to promote growth.  A thorough evaluation and diagnosis can lead to treatments that can improve your hair growth with medical prescription therapy with HairScience Formulas and other prescription medications, treatment products, and  Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP) treatments to stimulate hair regrowth and improve hair density without surgery.

Each person will undergo a consultation for hair loss.  This may include laboratory studies if needed, a history, examination of hair, pattern of loss, hair shaft, scalp and other exams. 

Medical Therapy

During your consultation for hair loss with Dr. Twigg, she will evaluate your hair loss pattern and ask you many questions.  She will examine your hair counts, pull on your hair a bit,  look at the condition of and for any inflammation of the scalp and take photos.   She will review your history, discuss when your hair loss began, ask about what medications you are taking, and do a physical exam.  She may order lab tests as well.  Once she is completed with your evaluation and any laboratory studies, she will discuss options available to help with your hair loss.   You may benefit from prescription-strength topical or oral therapies as well as medical-grade products and other treatments.  These modalities will be addressed during your initial consultation and during your ongoing treatments to improve your hair loss and ongoing treatment outcomes.   With hair loss treatments, hair regrowth takes time.  You will begin to see some results in 4-6 months, but often and particularly with females with longer hair, it's more difficult to see this hair regrowth so 12 months is needed to see the response to growth. 

Product Treatments

Dr. Twigg believes HairScience Formula 82S is the way to help prevent hair loss.
