Medical Acne Treatment
Acne may require different types of medical therapy management in conjunction with the medical-grade skincare line she prescribes. Topical acne treatments may be required for the duration of this condition. This may include both prescription and non-prescription formulas. Additional systemic acne treatments may be needed, such as oral antibiotics, hormonal oral medications, and for more resistant or severe cases such as cystic or scarring acne, oral isotretinoin treatment.
Dr. Twigg participates in the iPledge program, a strict program for patients that have failed other acne treatments, severe acne, cystic acne, or scarring acne. The use of oral isotretinoin is strictly monitored and requires monthly appointments throughout the course of treatment and even after treatment is completed. Dr. Twigg also monitors you after completion for several months, as some do require retreatment. Labs are required before and during treatment. These may be used in combination with other treatments to get you the best results.
