How does Skinfinity RF work?

Skinfinity uses a customizable, fractionated, ablative radiofrequency, which resurfaces the skin and creates microscopic thermal injuries. This stimulates the body's natural healing process, including new production of healthy, young collagen and elastin fibers. This is how Skinfinity patients see dramatic results within a short time. 

Is Skinfinity right for me?

Skinfinity is safe for many skin types. Its ability to treat a diverse range of patients and problems distinguishes it from other laser treatments.

What does the Skinfinity treatment feel like?

This treatment warms the deeper layers of your skin, which may feel slightly warm to hot depending on the treatment level selected. You will also feel a "zapping" sensation as the Skinfinity treatment advances the skin healing process. To make your experience more comfortable, we apply numbing cream prior to this treatment to reduce any discomfort. 

How long will my Skinfinity appointment last?

Depending on the area, it may take 45-75 minutes for your appointment. This estimate includes the time it will take for the numbing cream to take effect, during which you can simply relax with a cup of tea.  

What will it be like after the Skinfinity treatment?  How long will recovery take? 

The recovery process generally takes about a week. The duration of recovery will also depend on the level of treatment.

Immediately after treatment, your skin will feel warm, and you will experience a moderate stinging sensation. Skin will appear pink or red for several days. Peeling will begin peeling 3 days after the treatment, and will be mostly healed by day 7. Rarely, patients develop some swelling in the treatment area - however this condition will resolve itself within a week. 

Patients can heal much faster using our moisturizing and protective products, such as our Soothing Skin Relief Gel or Ulta Replenishing SPF 40 Moisturizer. Sunscreen is a must in the days following treatment. Patients should not use makeup for at least three days following a Skinfinity appointment.

Can I return to work the day following treatment?

Yes. However, some patients prefer to schedule off days following the treatment, as the Skinfinity treatment causes redness, dryness, and occasionally swelling.

How long will it take to see results?

Beautiful, revitalized skin will emerge within 1-2 weeks. However, the skin will continue to improve for up to 6 months after the treatment. 

How many Skinfinity treatments should I have?

To restore years of damage, a series of 4-6 treatments every 4-6 weeks are recommended for optimal results. Some may need more depending on the degree of damage - age, condition of skin, health, lifestyle choices and other factors all play a role in the skin’s response to treatments. Following this period, many patients choose to maintain the benefits of Skinfinity by returning every 3-6 months.

Can the Skinfinity treatment be combined with other treatments?

Yes! Skinfinity can be combined with our microneedling treatment to induce even greater collagen into the skin. Our platelet rich plasma treatment will also shorten the healing process and stimulate regeneration of tissue more quickly.
